Eckernförde, the idyllic North German town on the Baltic Sea is presenting the 2.International Wildlife Film Film Festival "Green Screen" in September 2008. Festivals debut was a big success: Viewers saw breathtaking nature films, present filmmakers were enthused and thought about moving to Eckernförde, and the festival organizers decided to repeat GREEN SCREEN in 2008 immediately.

The deadline for film submissions for 2008 has now passed.

We are pleased to announce 2008's Film Fetival as part of this years "Environment Week". Following the success of the first film festival in 2007, the event will be held over 3 evenings at the French Cultural Centre on street 184 (Keo Chea)

This year we have three categories:Grand Prix du Bassac 2.Khmer Film of the Year
3.Short Film Award

A photographic competition will also be held this year during the film festival.

The closing dates for all competitions is 30th July.

The sixth Matsalu Nature Film Festival will be held on September 17-21 2008 in Lihula.

The screenings will take place at the Culture House and photo exhibitions will be held at the various buildings of Lihula Manor and Culture House. Furthermore, there will be much going on also at Lihula Art House and at the headquarters of Matsalu Nature Reserve in Penijõe.

The ninth Japan Wildlife Film Festival will take place in Toyama in August 2009.

Established in 1993, the Festival is held biennially. It started in the hope that by screening moving images of the wonders of wildlife and the co-existence of nature and people, we could help to increase understanding and awareness of the urgent need to protect and care for the natural world. With your cooperation, the festival is now in its 14th year.

For the last Festival we received 331 entries from 35 countries and 30,000 people, including school children, attended the public screenings staged throughout the Toyama region. International filmmakers and broadcasters and the Japanese public now know the Festival as one of the biggest of its kind in Asia.

With the film competition as its focus, we also hosts seminars by scientists and filmmakers and support active international exchanges among filmmakers and broadcasters trusting they may lead to new co-productions and distribution opportunities.

In October, 2007, the Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival (JHWFF) hosted its 9th biennial international film industry conference, attracting more than 650 leaders in science, conservation and media. Delegates from over 25 countries participated in the week-long retreat featuring an exceptional slate of seminars, keynotes, screenings and networking events. The film competition honored the world’s finest nature films, with 19 prestigious awards chosen from an estimated 700 entries.
